This free half-day workshop is for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one and are seeking support in navigating their grief. Whether your loss was recent or some time ago, grief can show up in many different ways. Led by qualified counsellors specialising in grief therapy, the workshop offers a safe and compassionate space to process what you’re going through.

What the workshop covers
This workshop is designed to help adults who are experiencing grief and loss to:
- Understand the grief process and how it varies for each person
- Challenge myths and misconceptions around grieving
- Explore different grieving styles and emotional responses
- Normalise difficult emotions like sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion
- Build tools to support wellbeing and personal growth
- Identify healthy coping mechanisms
- Create and strengthen personal support networks

Additional support available
This workshop is complemented by 1:1 short-term, solution-focused counselling for:
- Adults dealing with grief
- Young people and children bereaved by the loss of a parent or close family member

Is the workshop really free?
Yes, Lifeline WA offers this workshop at no cost to participants as part of our commitment to mental health and community wellbeing.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. You can self-register by completing the application form or contacting our team directly.
Where is the face-to-face workshop held?
Our in-person workshops take place at our office in Shenton Park. Exact details will be provided upon registration.
Can I attend more than once?
We recommend attending once to make space for others who need support. However, if you feel you need additional support, we may recommend follow-up counselling.
Is this workshop suitable for children or teens?
This workshop is designed for adults. If you are looking for support for a young person, our team can help connect you with age-appropriate grief counselling options
Is the workshop confidential?
Yes. Everything shared in the group is confidential, and we ask all participants to respect each other’s privacy.
Do I have to speak during the workshop?
There is no pressure to speak. You’re welcome to simply listen and take part at your own pace.
