WA MENTAL HEALTH WORKPLACE TRAINING

Building stronger, supportive workplaces

Mental health is just as important as physical safety in today’s workplace. Psychosocial harm or injury can have significant, long-lasting impacts, which is why a proactive approach to managing psychosocial hazards and risks is essential. Mentally healthy workplaces benefit from improved productivity, stronger engagement, better working relationships, higher staff retention and a safer overall environment.

Our training programs help organisations to:

  • Comply with WA’s Work Health and Safety laws
  • Reduce stigma and promote early intervention
  • Implement effective peer support training
  • Prepare teams with knowledge and skills that enhance psychosocial safety

On average, every dollar spent to effectively implement a workplace mental health initiative returns $2.30 in benefits.

Our partnership with Lifeline WA is deeply entrenched at Mineral Resources. It helps drive a deeper understanding and appreciation of mental health education and the resources that are available to our people and their families. We prioritise mental health as much as physical health, and that’s why all of our people have access to in-house psychology services, confidential external counselling, and Lifeline WA’s mental health first aid training.

Workplace Training

I attended the Accidental Counsellor workshop in June and found it to be an incredibly valuable experience. The facilitator was both highly knowledgeable and engaging, creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Despite the diversity in the group, she ensured everyone felt heard and respected. The openness of the discussions was a clear reflection of how comfortable and supported people felt throughout the session. Overall, the workshop exceeded my expectations and provided practical insights that I can apply in both my role and my personal life.

Breight Group has been fortunate to receive scholarships through Lifeline for a number of our team members to complete the Resourceful Mind Training Program. Feedback from individuals completing this training has been very positive with all persons feeling confident and well equipped to have meaningful conversations with, and provide direction and support to team members where required around mental health issues. I would recommend this program to other businesses interested in establishing Peer Support networks within their organisations
