The power of philanthropic support
Lifeline WA relies on the support of foundations, grants and philanthropic individuals to help people in crisis and at risk of suicide.
Our purpose is to prevent suicide, support people in crisis, and break down the stigmas that can prevent someone from seeking help. To achieve this, we rely on a dedicated team of volunteer Crisis Supporters, trained and supported to be there for every call.
Without these volunteers, we couldn’t provide crucial support at the moment someone needs it most – when distress is high and coping feels impossible.
It costs $4,000 to train and develop a new Telephone Crisis Support Volunteer. Beyond training, ongoing support and wellbeing services for our volunteers require significant annual funding. With your philanthropic support, Lifeline WA can continue to be on the front line of suicide prevention, ensuring every Western Australian in crisis has someone to listen, empower, and connect with.
Your philanthropic support can help us to
- Save lives by supporting the recruitment, training, and deployment of volunteer Crisis Supporters.
- Support our volunteers’ wellbeing, ensuring they can continue to provide vital care.
- Promote mental health awareness amongst the community, challenging myths about suicide, and encouraging help-seeking.
- Strengthen community wellbeing by funding initiatives that help people build and maintain meaningful social connections.
