Free Co-Parenting Workshops

We’re here to help you manage separation

Lifeline WA’s free, one-day online workshop is delivered by qualified facilitators and is designed to help reduce conflict, improve communication, and build a positive path forward. Throughout the day, participants will explore strategies for setting clear boundaries, communicating effectively with an ex-partner, and applying healthy parenting techniques. The workshop also covers self-care, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and resilience. At the end of the session, each participant will receive an attendance certificate that can be used for court appearances.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the workshop cost?

This is a free service offered by Lifeline WA. We believe everyone should have access to support, regardless of financial circumstances.

Do I need a referral to join the workshop?

No formal referral is required. You can self-refer by completing the registration form and emailing it to counselling@lifelinewa.org.au.

If someone else is supporting you, like a service provider or family member, they’re also welcome to assist with the referral.

Can I attend if I don’t have contact with my ex-partner or children?

Unfortunately, this workshop is designed specifically for people who still have some level of contact with their ex-partner and/or children. If this doesn’t apply to you, please contact us to discuss alternative supports.

Is this suitable for court purposes?

Yes. Upon completing the workshop, you will receive an official certificate of attendance which can be used for court or mediation purposes.

What if my ex-partner registers too?

To avoid this, we require the name of your ex-partner on the registration form. We use this information to ensure you are not booked into the same session.

Do I have to speak during the workshop?

You’re encouraged to take part in the discussion, but we also understand that everyone participates differently. There’s no pressure, our facilitators create a respectful and safe space where you can engage at your own pace.

Is this workshop suitable for same-sex or LGBTIQ+ families?

Absolutely. We welcome all family structures and identities. The workshop is inclusive and affirming of diverse experiences.

Can I get more support after the workshop?

Yes. Lifeline WA offers free short-term counselling for parents, carers, and families impacted by separation. Just let us know if you’d like to access additional support.
