About the event
Family and domestic violence affects individuals, families and communities across Western Australia.
As part of 16 Days in WA, Lifeline WA is delivering 13 free training sessions across metropolitan, regional and remote WA to help community members and frontline workers recognise the signs of family and domestic violence, respond safely and compassionately, and connect people with appropriate support.
Sessions range from introductory DV-aware workshops for community members through to DV-alert training for frontline workers and specialist workshops exploring specific areas of family and domestic violence.
Who are these sessions for?
- DV-aware sessions are designed for community members, volunteers, leaders and anyone wanting to better understand family and domestic violence and how to respond supportively.
- DV-alert Foundations workshops are designed for frontline workers in health, allied health, education and community service settings.
- Advanced DV-alert workshops are available for participants who have previously completed a two-day DV-alert workshop and would like to build specialist knowledge in specific areas.
- All sessions are free to attend, however registrations are essential as places are limited.
