For survivors of suicide

A safe space for healing, connection and hope

Eclipse is a free, online support group for adults living in Western Australia who have survived one or more suicide attempts. Created by Lifeline WA and supported by Lotterywest, this eight-week psycho educational program offers a safe, supportive space to share, heal, and grow.

Groups are now finished, and we are not currently taking on any new referrals.

Why consider joining?

The time after a suicide attempt can be filled with confusion and conflicting emotions. Whether you’re feeling lost, grateful to be here, or somewhere in between, you are not alone. Many survivors experience stigma, shame, or isolation. Eclipse offers a place where you can connect with others who understand, speak openly about what you have been through, and learn new ways to cope.

Group discussions explore the thoughts and feelings that led to an attempt, while offering practical strategies for staying safe, building resilience, and rediscovering meaning.

Groups are now finished, and we are not currently taking on any new referrals.

What you can expect

Facilitators and group experience

Each group is facilitated by two highly trained Lifeline WA facilitators:

  • Lead Facilitator: Mental health professional with group facilitation experience
  • Peer Facilitator: Someone with lived experience of a suicide attempt, who has also participated in the program themselves

Program environment

Together, they create a brave, confidential space where participants can:

  • Connect with others who share similar lived experiences
  • Talk about thoughts and emotions in a supportive, judgment-free space
  • Increase their coping skills and self-understanding

Topics covered each week:

  • Understanding your experience of suicide and survival
  • Reducing shame and self-blame
  • Exploring emotional regulation strategies
  • Learning how to speak about suicidal thoughts safely
  • Developing coping skills and resilience
  • Building a support network
  • Creating safety and wellness plans

About the Program

Eclipse is based on the Didi Hirsch Survivors of Suicide Attempts (SOSA) model, which has been successfully used in the United States since 2014. The name “ECLIPSE” symbolises emerging from darkness into light – a journey of healing, connection, and hope.
