Whether you’re curious about what Lifeline WA does, or you want to build real skills to help someone in crisis – there’s something here for you.

Ever wondered what happens when someone calls Lifeline? This relaxed lunchtime session is open to anyone in the community who’d like to learn more about Lifeline WA’s services and what to expect when reaching out for crisis support.
You’ll leave with a clear understanding of Lifeline’s support options and some practical tips for checking in with a friend, colleague or family member who might be doing it tough – including how to listen effectively and point them toward the right help.

Accidental Counsellor
Thursday 7 May | 4.00pm – 7.30pm

You don’t need to be a professional to make a difference. Accidental Counsellor by Lifeline WA gives you the skills to effectively support a friend, family member, colleague or peer who may be in distress or experiencing a crisis.
This course covers core helping skills including active listening, effective questioning, de-escalation and grounding techniques — all practical tools you can use in everyday situations. It’s not about becoming a counsellor. It’s about being better equipped to show up for the people in your life when it matters most.
