About the event
The Ros Worthington Out of the Shadows Walk is one of the most meaningful events on the Lifeline WA calendar. It’s a time for quiet reflection, connection and remembrance, a space where we come together to honour those we’ve lost to suicide and stand alongside those who’ve been affected.
The event has been renamed in memory of Dr Ros Worthington OAM, a beloved philanthropist, passionate advocate and the founder of this annual tradition. Ros understood the deep pain of loss and the importance of gathering with others who had experienced the same. Her compassion and determination have helped shape Lifeline WA into what it is today.
As we walk together at sunrise, we do so in remembrance of those we’ve lost and in solidarity with one another. We walk out of the shadows with courage, compassion and hope, sharing our stories and keeping memories alive.
The walk takes place just after World Suicide Prevention Day to reflect the power of coming together, whether you’re walking in remembrance of a loved one or in support of someone who is.
*The Ros Worthington Out of the Shadows Walk is free to attend, but RSVPs are essential so we can ensure everyone is supported on the day.
