Course Description:
This is an introduction to understanding family and domestic violence and perfect for those looking to gain foundational knowledge in a time-efficient format. Participants will learn the different signs and forms of abuse, and what to do if they encounter someone who is experiencing family and domestic violence. DV-aware is delivered Australia-wide as part of the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children.
Objectives
- Describe the different forms of abuse that constitute domestic and family violence.
- Explain the linkages between power and control and domestic and family violence.
- Describe what you can do if you know someone who is experiencing domestic and family violence.
Who will benefit from this training?
- Any adult (18 or older) seeking to enhance their awareness and knowledge of family and domestic violence.
